• I am here again. For those who are new on my page- this is a life on going journal in becoming a full time well known artist. This is my goal and I am really working toward it.

So, To be short and come closer to present time,I will mention just very important for me contacts, good choices ( need to be another word)  and mistakes.

So, in September 2008 my friend Sophie and I joined the Burnaby Artists Guild and still staying with them and enjoying  every moment with this group of talented people. For now (I am sure it always will be like this) I think that was the very right thing to do toward our (my) goal – find the group of people who think  like you, could give you a good advice, lead in forming your career.

The Guild in doing two shows  a year in Sheldbolt Center . First my show was very successful  and encouraging for me – I sold a painting for 450.00! This are photos of me at the  show and my painting which was sold. (The board behind me is not mine!)

After that show the world economy went down. That definitely was not the good moment to start artist career.  But what can you do – just do not give up and go forward.  Next spring show was not successful for any artist in the Guild.  Anyway, one of my small acrylic and ink drawings was sold but I still was not happy. I had a filling that to be successful I need to find my own consistent stile, colors, subjects so people could recognize me anywhere (too much  for the emerging artist, but here am I)). Theses are photos from my second show:

You can see that I am more consistent in my bord organizing and my frames styles and in my subject to paint -rocks and flowers and men built structures. These days I was going to participate in the First annual Wildlife show in BC which invitation I have got couple of months before.

This  “Wildlife show” story could be a good example what not to do before you know all information, make research about organizers and ets. it is separete subject to talk about because,  I am sure, lots of artists still can be hooked by

    To be continued...
  • Since today I decided to share with you my past, present and future experience in becoming a well established artist. I am not going to tell all my life story, you can read some info about me in my short bio. I am just sure that there are a lot of people like me who fill their ability to be an artist but do not know what to do. Hopefully, this diary will help somebody to choose right steps, avoid my mistakes while building the career of full time artist.

I also apologise for my spelling mistakes – English is my second language.

    In couple words…

Two, maybe three years ago my best friend Sophie and me decided to return back to our artistic souls and become not only full time moms but full time artists.  We were having fun painting with a group of people in Bonsor Community Center.  First, it was just to go somewhere out of the house, away from family of 4 kids, demending husband, hungry but playfull dog(golden retriver)and cooking.

The moment when we realized that painting without showing the art peace to public does not work any more came in a year. We started to research in the Internet( where else?) what to do to sell your art? Through the suggestions we have had one main idea was very clearly jumping out – join the group of artist in your area!
